The
Meaning of the Dove
Early
Christians often had a dove on their Tombs as a symbol of the Peace and
Happiness of the soul. Occassionally in the earliest Christian
art the dove is used as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Later it was very
common. The dove is also a symbol of peace. In Genesis 8 after
the flood, a dove returned to Noah with an olive branch in its beak,
revealing the end of God's judgment and the beginning of a new covenant
with man. This is why we use it as the background on our web pages.
